Residents press Grover Beach council on multi‑story development, water supply and Central Coast Blue outreach

Multiple Grover Beach residents used the public comment period on Sept. 8 to press the council about new multi‑story development, water supply and the Central Coast Blue (regional recycled water) project.
Several speakers, including a recently returned resident who said new four‑story buildings are being built near the railroad and Brenda Auer, a local business owner, criticized density, shadowing of private homes and potential impacts on water supply and property values. Auer specifically asked the council to place a discussion of Central Coast Blue and the consolidated permit with Pismo Beach on a future council agenda and requested recorded, public hearings so residents can follow the process.
Stacy Korskadden and Catherine Sells expressed mixed views on growth — supportive of development generally but concerned about design, parking and the character of Grover Beach. Donna Dela Rosa and other callers asked that water projects in their neighborhoods be placed on a council agenda for public discussion. Councilmembers and staff said they would coordinate with Pismo Beach (the applicant for the Central Coast Blue project) to host outreach this fall and would bring an informational update to the council this fall; the city noted Pismo Beach’s June 23 presentation is available online.
