Transit official introduces rural service; court shares community forum and Hope & Healing event dates

During public comment at the Oct. 2 special meeting, Dan Burnell identified himself as "the public transit administrator from AMCOL Transit" and described the organization's rural transit services that cover the region, including early-morning pickups for dialysis patients and other specialized trips. Burnell said the provider operates primarily in rural areas and coordinates with local providers to offer affordable rides and health-service information.
Burnell introduced a supervisor, Tara, who was present. The presiding officer and other members thanked Burnell for the information and noted the value of having accessible transportation options for rural residents who rely on scheduled trips to medical appointments and stores.
The court also received informational announcements: the Northern Kentucky Area Development District plans a community forum in Gallatin County on Monday, Oct. 27 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and a community event called "Hope and Healing for Gallatin County" is scheduled for Oct. 19 at Warsaw City Park. Officials said the Hope and Healing event will be privately funded, include behavioral health resources and faith leaders, and is intended as a community response to recent local tragedies.
