The Montgomery City Council unanimously adopted an ordinance rezoning 3701 Atlanta Highway from an OT district to a B-2Q district following a public hearing.

Property owner Patricia Thomas told the council she plans to relocate her business to 3701 Atlanta Highway (corner of West Ferry Road), operate a licensed insurance office there, host educational workshops for seniors, monthly health fairs and a monthly group called "Chat and Choose," and hold a bridal boutique event once or twice a year. Council members asked clarifying questions about events and alcohol; Thomas said events would be infrequent and no alcohol would be served.

With no speakers opposing the rezoning in the hearing, the council moved to adopt the ordinance and voted unanimously to approve the change in zoning. Council members offered well-wishes for the business and the owner. The ordinance was adopted at the meeting without amendment.
