HELENA — After recessing from the HB 457 hearing, the House Health and Human Services Committee returned for executive action and moved two bills out of committee.
Vice Chair Etcher moved that House Bill 397 be recommended to pass. Representative Howell offered amendment 397.001/0.002 to clarify that the proposed privacy regulations would not apply to telehealth services already governed by HIPAA. The committee adopted the amendment by voice vote, with several members recorded voting aye by proxy. Following that, the committee approved HB 397 as once amended and sent it to the House floor.
The committee also moved to concur in Senate Bill 170. Members approved concurrence by voice vote, with proxy ayes recorded, and directed the bill to the floor; Representative Zukas agreed to carry the bill.
