Health officials: about 277 people identified as potential measles exposures; no community spread confirmed

Danielle from the county public-health team briefed department heads on June 17 about a local measles exposure investigation that has identified roughly 277 people who may have been exposed to a confirmed case.
"We received over 277 people who may have been exposed," Danielle said, adding that the county's press release received large online attention and that the county translated exposure and education information into its top five languages. Most contacts are under weekly monitoring because of documented immunity; people with no or unknown immunity are on daily monitoring. No community spread has been confirmed to date.
Public-health staff urged employees to share contact information about measles with the public, to discourage misinformation, and to make sure people are vaccinated. They advised anyone who thinks they were exposed and is sick to call before going to urgent care to avoid additional exposures. The county said it will provide updates if the situation changes.
Separately, staff announced operational items including a July 1 launch for a badge-activated key kiosk for fleet-vehicle checkout. Dawn described an online reservation system and a First-Floor parking-rack kiosk that will allow badge-activated key pick-up and return; the county will publish a short instructional video and a newsletter link ahead of the switch.
Next steps: public-health staff will continue contact monitoring and update departments as needed; the key-kiosk rollout will be published in the county's weekly communication ahead of the July 1 launch.
