Treasurer previews online tax-payment accounts and credit-card option

Treasurer's office staff briefed department heads June 17 on new online tax-payment features that will allow residents to create a customer account, schedule staged payments and link multiple parcel accounts.
A presenter said customers will be able to create an account on the county website to see balances and make recurring or one-off payments. "You can put in one credit card, never worry about it again," one presenter said while describing the convenience of a linked account and payment-scheduling options. County staff emphasized that the credit-card processing is handled through a third-party vendor and that the county will work with the vendor on security concerns.
The treasurer's staff said the new account functionality will make it easier for residents with multiple parcels to manage payments and for county staff to track payment histories. They did not provide a firm rollout date beyond the demonstration and advised departments to follow up with the treasurer's office for details about security and processor agreements.
Next steps: the treasurer's office will continue internal testing and answer departmental questions about accommodation for residents who need alternative payment options.
