Tunica County board approves NDA with prospective developer during executive session, recesses until Sept. 29

The Tunica County board voted to enter into a nondisclosure agreement with a company exploring the possibility of developing in the county during an executive session that began at about 5:00 p.m. and ended at 6:09 p.m., officials said.

The board, which announced those in attendance as Board President Daley, Vice President Johnson, Supervisor William, Dr. Willis, Mr. Sigus, Attorney Perry and appointed members Vanessa Shield and Tyler Oliver, discussed personnel matters and a time policy during the closed session. A speaker said the policies should be enforced and followed but that no official board action on enforcement would be taken at that time.

Board members then took a formal vote to enter an NDA related to a prospective developer. "The board voted by the William motion and by the Johnson second," the transcript records; the motion passed 4-0. The board later voted to come out of executive session at 6:09 p.m.

Later in open proceedings, a motion to recess the meeting until Monday, Sept. 29, was made, seconded and carried after members responded "Aye." The transcript does not record a numerical roll-call tally for the recess motion.

Supervisor Willis asked whether the board would review the policy documents and consider changes; a speaker said any review would be "based on the documents you provide."
