The Greendale School District Board of Education approved a package of routine personnel, policy and contract items at its July meeting and moved into closed session to consider an expulsion matter.
Board members voted to approve the 2025–26 Greendale Education Association educational support personnel agreement and to accept two teacher resignations with accompanying appointments. The board also approved checks and disbursements totaling $7,100,537.41. Jonathan Mitchell, district finance staff, told the board the June numbers are preliminary and the external audit will occur on-site in late August; he estimated a Fund 27 transfer of roughly $4,580,000.
Tracy Flater presented the district’s curriculum alignment and the board approved continuing to adopt the Wisconsin academic standards as the district’s baseline curriculum. An administrator told the board the policy review included input from the district medical advisor and nurse; Policy 5330 (Administration of Medication and Emergency Care) was revised to remove language about essential oils and the board approved the policy as presented.
The board also approved a 66‑03 cooperative agreement to replace 20% of a physical therapist position following a retirement, and members voted to renew the district’s membership in the Southeastern Wisconsin School Alliance (SWSA). On the cleaning contract, Mitchell said the district received three bids for evening cleaning and a lead second‑shift position; one bid came in significantly lower and additional reference checks are under way with a recommendation to return to the board on Aug. 4.
Before adjourning, a member moved the board into closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(f) to review an independent hearing officer’s expulsion order; the board approved entering closed session and stated it would take action there and return to open session only to adjourn.
