Hancock County Board adopts FY2025–26 budget and tax levy

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Sept. 15 to adopt the fiscal year 2025–26 budget and accompanying tax levy. The board spread the resolution and exhibits A–C into the record and approved related budget items, including a resolution regarding the EMA director’s salary.
Board members moved and seconded the resolution and recorded the motion as carrying 5–0. The board also scheduled a special meeting for Sept. 29, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. for year-end closeout of fiscal items and authorized county personnel to advertise the special meeting pursuant to the cited subsection.
County officials did not add new line-item details during the vote in the public record other than to note that the budget and levy were spread in the exhibits. No public hearing was held during this session on the adoption motion; the board indicated closeout and administrative scheduling items would be handled at the Sept. 29 special meeting.
