County Attorney Cynthia Mitchell presented a resolution to extend the Pueblo County Davis Mortuary disaster/emergency declaration, which the board approved by motion and voice vote on Sept. 4. Staff said the county continues to incur daily costs related to the mortuary situation and extended the declaration so those costs remain eligible for state reimbursement.
A commissioner explained the action is a stopgap while the county seeks state assistance, and that because the emergency and reimbursement requests are ongoing, statute requires periodic board renewal of the declaration. The board moved, seconded and passed the extension by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.
