Greendale board approves $2.8 million in checks, hears fiscal audit update

At its meeting, the Greendale School District board approved checks and disbursements totaling $2,804,608.56 and heard an update on the district’s annual financial audit. Speaker 7 presented updated financial statements for the month of June and said on‑site audit work began today and will continue with virtual review over the next three months.

The presenter said the district is showing a small operational surplus for the 2024–25 fiscal year despite staffing turnover in the business office and that staff are completing bank reconciliations for July. Speaker 7 said the audit team will continue final adjustments and that updated monthly financials for July and August will be provided to the board in September.

Speaker 6 moved to approve the checks and disbursements as presented in agenda item 2.2; Speaker 5 seconded the motion and the roll‑call vote carried. The board’s approval authorizes payments and routine disbursement activity reflected in the meeting materials.

Speaker 7 noted audit timing and follow‑up: “I’d be happy to take any questions that the board may have about where we are for ending 24‑25,” and said staff will continue to work closely with the auditors.

The board did not take additional fiscal policy action at this meeting; staff will return with final audit reports when available.
