MADAM CHAIR — At the Sept. 15 meeting the Douglas County School System board approved the consent agenda and the certified personnel report, confirmed its next meeting on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m., and recessed into an executive session to discuss land, legal and personnel matters.
Consent and personnel: The chair called for the consent agenda and the board approved the items as presented. Later in the meeting the board moved to approve certified personnel listed in the meeting materials; the chair announced that item favorable.
Executive session: The board then voted to adjourn the public session and move into executive session to discuss land, legal and personnel matters identified on the affidavit; the motion was made and seconded.
Board comments: In the public comment period and board remarks, Miss Simmons urged the district to consider ways to recognize a larger share of students — including for growth, not only top scores — across the district’s more than 26,000 students.
