Liberty County Schools promote Attendance Awareness Month and United Way drive

Ms. Baker said September is Attendance Awareness Month and encouraged daily attendance; she noted a districtwide attendance competition at each school level and asked families to participate. She announced that on Sept. 12 the district will ask students to wear green tops and on Sept. 19 students are asked to wear orange for Unity Day.
Ms. Baker also promoted the district's United Way campaign, saying the district's goal is $45,000 and that contributions at the time of the meeting exceeded $11,000. She directed interested donors to a donation link on the district website and to an on-screen code to give to a particular school.
The chair thanked Ms. Baker for the announcements before the meeting proceeded to remarks from the superintendent and final adjournment.
