At the Aug. 12 session, County Attorney Matthew Warrick asked the Fiscal Court to approve hiring Mikayla Polly for a position described as clerical and paralegal work shared between the county and the prosecutor’s office. Warrick told the court the arrangement will make Polly both a county and a state employee and that the shared funding reduces county costs by approximately $20,000 compared with the prior, sole-county position.
Commissioner Ernie Dewey moved to approve the hire as Warrick described, the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. The transcript records the annual salary as $22,312. Warrick also noted pending legal work related to a property sale and a declaratory-judgment filing intended to recover interest from an old road-project account; those legal matters are separate from the hiring request.
The motion included no additional conditions recorded in the minutes; payroll and appointment processing would follow standard county personnel procedures.
