The Brookhaven City Council approved a resolution to amend and extend its agreement with Axon Enterprises to supply the Brookhaven Police Department with body-worn cameras, conducted-energy devices, in-car cameras, digital-evidence management and network hardware, and to purchase Skydio drone dock systems for the department’s drone-as-first-responder program.
Staff described technology and equipment covered under the resolution, noted additional technology upgrades and said the contract would lock 2025 pricing through the term specified in the resolution. Council Member (S4) moved approval of the resolution (noted in the meeting as Resolution 73 55); the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
One council member referenced a presentation from Captain Ayanna given during the preceding work session that outlined data on the drone-as-first-responder program’s success and directed residents and other council members to the city website for the work-session materials and video.
Next steps: The city will execute the amended agreement with Axon and proceed with equipment deployment in accordance with the contract. Any procurement details, financing or scheduling will follow staff and procurement processes.
