Campbell County to contract with Boone County for veterinary services and adds Animal Services staff

The court approved the contract and a commissioner thanked county staff for additional outreach to local veterinarians before entering the Boone County agreement.
At the same meeting, the court appointed Josie Arnn as a full‑time animal control officer (effective Sept. 4, 2025) and Jade King as a full‑time kennel technician (effective Sept. 9, 2025) for Campbell County Animal Services. The appointments were presented as part of a broader personnel slate and were approved by unanimous voice vote.
County staff framed the Boone County agreement as a cost‑neutral or cost‑reducing arrangement compared with prior practice; the memorandum of agreement delegates veterinary capacity from a neighboring jurisdiction rather than expanding local vendor contracts immediately.
Next steps: county administration will finalize the MOA with Boone County and integrate the contracted veterinary scheduling with Animal Services operations while newly appointed staff complete their onboarding.
