Board approves parks fund transfer, budget amendment and MDOT pass-through funding

At its Sept. 9 meeting, the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners approved several committee-recommended items during the consent and committee-report portion of the agenda.
Commissioner Cook moved to authorize Muskegon County Parks to transfer $136,570 from the Community Foundation's Dune Harbor Park Fund to the county parks account to pay for Southlake improvement engineering expenses; the motion was supported and approved on a 7–0 roll call.
The Ways and Means Committee moved item WN250957 to amend the FY2025 budget “as presented,” and the board approved the amendment on a 7–0 roll call.
The board also approved a Michigan Department of Transportation project authorization (2022-0110/P9/R1) that adds approximately $13,000 in state transportation funding to be passed through to nonprofit providers Pioneer Resources and HMO Services for specialized transportation services already delivered in FY2025; county staff said the county acts only as a pass-through and does not retain administrative fees. That motion also passed on a 7–0 roll call.
Each motion was recorded by roll call with unanimous 'yes' votes from commissioners present.
