Commissioners approve CDBG planning grant application to update West Billings neighborhood plan

The Yellowstone County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a planning grant application to seek Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support an update of the West Billings neighborhood plan.
Monica from the planning department told commissioners the West Billings plan is a joint city-county project that has not been updated since February 2001 and that staff had applied for the same planning funds last fall and were encouraged to resubmit. "We would just like to apply for the CDBG planning grant for the West Billings neighborhood plan," Monica said.
Commissioner Mark moved to approve the planning grant application as outlined by Mr. Clark; the motion was seconded and the chair called for the vote. Commissioners answered in the affirmative and the motion carried.
The approval authorizes staff to submit the application; any award, award conditions and scope of work will be brought back for further consideration if and when the county receives notice of a grant award.
