During the Aug. 20 Christian County fiscal meeting magistrates approved a series of routine fiscal and administrative items, including fund expenditures, surplus declarations, a grant payment and a personnel hire.
Motions and approvals included: approval of the August 12 minutes and a recent special call meeting; approval of general-fund, road-and-bridge, jail, LGEA, E-911, health, and port-storage-fee expenditures (all motions were made and approved, with roll calls or voice votes recorded by the clerk); declaration of surplus property from the animal shelter and the judge executive’s office; surplus declarations of two 2016 Chevy Tahoes and a list of body-armor items from the sheriff’s department; and approval of payment to Trilogy Recovery Center under a previously authorized grant (resolution 23-00055).
On personnel, the court approved the hiring of Billy Over as a deputy on a 90-day probationary period effective Sept. 1, 2025.
