Tanner Brown provided the recycling update, reporting that in July Perry County recycled 20 tons of cardboard, 1,400 pounds of plastics and 250 pounds of aluminum. "The recycling update for the month of July is we've recycled 20 tons of cardboard, 1,400 pounds of plastics, and, 250 pounds of aluminum," Tanner said.
Court members pressed on illegal dumping: Judge Executive and others noted cameras are in place and that when people are caught they are asked to clean up and properly dispose of material; if they refuse the county attorney will pursue prosecution. Tanner said staff have responded to multiple illegal-dumping calls and that enforcement resources have improved the county's ability to prosecute when necessary.
Tanner also invited residents to the Summer Park Games and other regular park activities (weekday 5:00 p.m. events and Saturday 10:00 a.m. activities) and said details are posted on the Fairfield District Court Facebook page.
The court tied recycling and cleanup work to broader tourism goals, with the judge executive saying tourism growth makes cleanup a higher priority and noting the county's increased road funding and ongoing blacktop spending.
