Fiscal Court approves interlocal agreements for software and Prairie Avenue maintenance

Perry County Fiscal Court approved two interlocal agreements during the meeting. The court voted to enter an agreement with Madison County to adopt a software platform Madison County uses for budgeting, purchase orders and equipment tracking; the judge executive said the platform provides each department visibility into budgets and allows the county to "see exactly what's being spent" and track equipment such as bush hogs.

The judge executive clarified that Madison County owns and hosts the software and that Perry County's instance would be tailored to the county. Following discussion and confirmation of trial runs, the court approved the interlocal agreement and adopted a related resolution authorizing the agreement.

Separately, the court approved an interlocal agreement with the city of Hazard to allow the county to perform maintenance on Prairie Avenue (a city-owned stretch by Prairie Central, the bus garage, the school board office and a nursing home); the court approved the agreement by voice vote and said this will let the county perform work, including patching and plowing, along that stretch.
