Court approves culvert project, county settlement, multiple fund transfers and emergency dispatch HVAC payment

At its Aug. 13 meeting, Bracken County Fiscal Court approved a resolution and agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to replace a culvert at Harkets Lane for $5,870. The resolution was moved by David Couch and seconded; the related agreement with KYTC was approved separately because the project is administered through the cabinet.
The court received and approved the county settlement ending June 30, 2025, as presented by Treasurer Lois Garrison; she noted that Judicial Center bond reports and Public Property Corporation financials will be presented at the next meeting (Aug. 27).
Routine financial business included approval of senior citizens fund transfers, general-fund budget transfers and vendor claims across general, road, jail, dispatch and federal funds after motions and roll-call votes.
Judge Teegarden reported emergency HVAC work at the Dispatch building and sought authorization to pay Brevard $77,281 upon completion; the court approved the payment and gave the treasurer permission to transfer funds between accounts if needed to cover the invoice.
The court also approved an advance of $6,000 to the city of Germantown for park equipment, to be reconciled with receipts.
