County court backs opioid recovery proposal and residential women’s treatment plan

Debbie Dillon, who identified herself during the presentation, described three proposed programs: a residential women’s treatment facility, an intensive outpatient 90‑day program, and an educational after‑school and summer program for children with mental‑health diagnoses. She said the programs would coordinate with local case management and corrections reentry supports.
Court members discussed funding options and timeline. One magistrate asked whether county opioid funds could cover a $70,000 local commitment; a treasurer and other magistrates discussed available opioid settlement dollars and the multi‑year nature of settlement distributions. After debate and a motion to proceed, the court approved moving forward with the program plan and related funding as presented.
Presenters said hiring and the first survey of needs would begin immediately; the county attorney was asked to prepare any required agreements and contracting documents. The court recorded votes to approve the presenters’ request to proceed.
