The clerk summarized the key consent items: approval of total expenditures of $4,757,828 for the period July 31–Aug. 13 (including $4,146,200 in claims over $25,000); contract awards included $832,995 to Vortex Services LLC for sanitary sewer trenchless rehabilitation (Phase 27), $423,888 to Smith River Construction for sidewalk and streetscape work, $626,625 to Central Plumbing Heating & Excavating for Northwest Side water main replacement (Phase 1), $480,280.80 to Copper Creek LLC for a lift station power project, and a $96,447 professional services agreement with Theater DNA to complete a facilities utilization and feasibility study.
Resident Jenny Dodd spoke against item 13, calling the feasibility study a waste of taxpayer money and questioning whether past public commitments had been met; commissioners and staff defended the procurement process and said the chosen vendor was vetted through an RFP and reference checks. Commissioner Wolf moved to approve the consent agenda and the motion carried by voice vote.
These consent approvals advance procurement and construction steps across multiple city projects; staff will proceed with contract execution and return to the commission as required under contract terms.
