Council approves rezoning and ordinance to match city master plan

On Aug. 4, the Pewaukee Common Council approved multiple rezoning matters that staff and the Plan Commission said align with the city's comprehensive master plan.
Staff explained that a property owner requested rezoning from B-3 to RS-7 so a single-family home could be built; the future land-use designation is medium-density residential, and both Plan Commission and staff recommended approval. A council member moved to approve the rezoning and the motion passed on a voice vote.
Separately, the council considered ordinance 25-13 to rezone Waukesha County-owned parcels to reflect planned park use consistent with future land-use designations; staff said the change would allow the county to install a typical county park sign and that Plan Commission recommended approval. The council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance.
Both items will proceed to any required final steps in the city's administrative and permitting process.
