Pewaukee staff outline draft water‑supply service area plan as DNR deadline approaches

"The DNR was issuing a directive requiring all community water supplies to prepare a water supply service area plan by 12/31/2025, in accordance with their n r 8 54," Speaker 6 said, adding that the utility’s 2023 plan prepared by Strand served as an initial phase and that staff will finish the report for a likely public hearing in November or early December.
Speaker 6 said the draft includes projections that consider both the village of Pewaukee and the village of Lisbon as potential service areas and that the utility held an open house April 30 that drew about 25–30 people. "Once the full report is complete, we'll actually have to have a formal public hearing," Speaker 6 said.
Staff asked the committee to review assumptions in the draft and provide comments to be incorporated before the formal hearing. No formal action was taken; staff encouraged members to submit feedback as the draft is finalized.
