The city set a minimum bid of $1,000; the Street family submitted a $5,000 bid when bids closed. At the public hearing Bruce Street said he and his wife were willing to increase their offer to $10,500 to account for demolition and utility removal costs, and he asked the council to consider a counteroffer that recovered more of the city expenses. One council member noted a nearby comparable lot sold for $11,000 and said $10,500 was a reasonable offer.
Council made a motion to accept the amended $10,500 bid, moved and seconded on the floor, and approved it by roll call.
Staff will complete standard closing procedures. The council’s motion specified the sale price and concluded the public hearing; the sale was approved at the meeting.
