Jenks council adopts ordinance closing utility easement for Sunrise Bridal

The Jenks City Council on Dec. 2 approved Ordinance 1677, a request to close a platted utility easement for the Sunrise Bridal project located south of 131st and east of Peoria Elm.
City counsel Missus Hilton told the council the closure is a routine technical item that went to the technical advisory committee and that state statute required the city to provide a 30-day notice to public utilities; staff said notice was provided on Oct. 27 and no comments were received. Missus Hilton said the matter will likely return later with a related district-court vacation request.
Council asked no substantive questions and voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance.
The council characterized the item as a typical easement-closure ordinance required because the area is a platted public way; adopting the ordinance authorizes staff to proceed with related title and court-vacation steps as needed.
