Procurement staff said 11 vendors were solicited for Bid #2582; only one bid was submitted. Warehouse and distribution staff described the conductor as a standard industry product used for routine line work; they said 20,000 feet is the typical on‑hand inventory and would cover roughly half to three‑quarters of a year depending on capital projects. Delivery is estimated at six to eight weeks after receipt of the purchase order.
Board members asked why more vendors did not bid; staff said some suppliers opt to prioritize commercial customers or were unable to meet the solicitation terms. The board discussed lead time, storage capacity and the need to coordinate procurement with upcoming capital projects to avoid running out of stock.
Chair moved to authorize the contract with TriState for $71,800; the motion was seconded and approved by recorded voice vote.
Next steps: staff will issue the purchase order and coordinate delivery timing with public‑works and warehouse schedules.
