The Hastings Planning Commission on June 17 approved the final plat for the Cedar Park subdivision, a development southeast of East D Street and South Cedar Avenue that will include 10 townhome units and two lots intended for apartment buildings.
"There'd be 10 townhome units on lots on the west side of the property and then 2 lots for apartment buildings," Amber Batzlan, city planner, told the commission. Staff said the final plat is consistent with the preliminary plat presented last month and conforms with the comprehensive plan, with adequate access and infrastructure.
Commissioners asked about the developer's start date. A commissioner said contractors were obtaining bid prices for water, sewer and paving and that the developer hopes to begin work in the next couple months. After discussion, Commissioner Chuck moved to approve the final plat; Commissioner Michelle seconded. The motion passed 7-0 (Item 2025-250).
Staff recorded that nothing substantive changed from the preliminary plat; the developer’s exact construction timetable was not specified.
