Del City Council approves appointments, minutes and DCEDA actions; trustees rehearse executive‑session decisions
Summary
At its Dec. 1 meeting Del City council approved minutes, reappointed Cynthia Hartwell and Floyd Brown to the Park and Beautification Commission, and adjourned to the Del City Economic Development Authority (DCEDA), which approved a budget amendment and authorized trust leadership to sign documents discussed in executive session.
The Del City Council on Dec. 1 handled routine business and several appointments before convening as the Del City Economic Development Authority (DCEDA).
Council business included approval of the Nov. 17 council meeting minutes and the reappointment of Cynthia Hartwell and Floyd Brown to the Park and Beautification Commission for terms through Dec. 1, 2027; both nominations passed unanimously. City Manager (JD) also announced community events, grant presentations for Rose Lane under the Community and Economic Resiliency Initiative, and the upcoming retirement of Captain Sonny Marty after 30 years of service to the fire department.
After adjourning the council, trustees met as the DCEDA and approved the minutes of Nov. 3, 2025 and a budget amendment for fiscal year 2025–26 by unanimous vote. Trustees voted to take no action on a separate agenda item at this time and clarified that the council could not provide public funds to a private entity; council members indicated they may make private donations if desired. Trustees recessed into executive session to discuss confidential economic development matters under Oklahoma Statutes Title 25 §307(C)(11). Returning to open session, trustees authorized the trust chair and/or trust manager to endorse any necessary documents arising from the executive session discussions; that authorization passed unanimously.
The meeting concluded with adjournment of the DCEDA. Council and trust actions recorded at the meeting will be followed by staff implementation tasks noted in the minutes.
