The Oak Park City Council on July 7 approved a set of construction contracts and pay applications related to ongoing capital projects, including an Event Hub masonry contract and a substantial pay application for a street reconstruction project.
Deputy city manager DeCoster told trustees that Elbaugh/Arbel Masonry was the low bidder for the Event Hub masonry category and the administration recommended awarding that contract for $600,800. DeCoster said the construction manager will continue to manage the project and that holding a nonunion contract directly with the city was done for that trade category; council approved the award.
Director Kimberly Maroney sought approval of pay application #2 (and change order #1) to Eminent Excavating for the Northfield Reconstruction Project in the amount of $293,970.43 with a $17,530.20 change order; staff said the project is roughly 75% complete and council approved the payment.
Several routine items on the consent agenda included invoices, prior pay applications and approvals accounted for in project budgets; those items were approved as presented. Councilors did not request additional discussion on the contracts during the meeting.
