Residents raise school-zone, road, trash and resource concerns during Chester public comment

"We will have 400 boxes," Johnson said, urging early arrival.
Several residents raised infrastructure and maintenance concerns, including potholes, damaged roads on 3rd, 4th and 7th streets, overgrown lots and illegal dumping of mattresses. One resident asked why community fields were not being converted into recreation facilities and urged the city to build spaces for children to play; a council member pointed to an upcoming groundbreaking for 21 townhomes and said staff would follow up on street repair priorities.
What happens next: Council members committed to follow up with public works staff on street repairs and to share information about the announced community events and budget hearings with residents.
