Ed Howard, a parent representative and long-serving LSC member at Onahan Elementary, used his public comment time to press the Board on a stalled outdoor athletic and recreation field project.
Howard said the project began roughly a decade ago, reached 100 percent design, and was the subject of a 2022 letter stating the project would be completed in the 2023 budget cycle, but it never reached the Board for funding approval. He said the current field’s condition has led to injuries and asked the Board to ask questions and follow up; he emphasized the field affects community members, staff and roughly 650 students.
Howard offered to provide documentation and to meet with board members outside the meeting if they had questions.
