Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs Board of Education voted June 16 to approve the fiscal year 2025–26 budget and adopt several resolutions and policy changes ahead of the new school year. Board President Katie Lee convened the meeting at 4:30 p.m.; the vote on the budget and subsequent items was unanimous among members present.
The board approved a resolution to adopt the FY26 budget and the accompanying appropriation resolution after a motion by Cresta and a second from Leah. Deb Genesta called the roll; each member recorded an “I,” indicating approval. Katie Lee later moved to adopt a separate resolution authorizing the use of a portion of the district’s beginning fund balance for specified expenditures; Laura seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
In policy action, the board completed a second reading and adopted EL‑5 (Commitment to Accomplishment and Accountability). Leah moved for adoption and Cresta seconded; the board recorded unanimous approval.
The board also adopted a resolution to renew the intergovernmental agreement for the coordinated November 4, 2025, election, voted to participate in the coordinated election, and appointed Deborah Genesta as the district’s designated election official. Katie Lee made the motion; Leah seconded, and the board voted in favor.
