Round Rock City Council recognizes 2025 Teen University graduates

Round Rock City Council on Tuesday recognized the fifth graduating class of Teen University, a two-week program that gives local high-school students behind-the-scenes exposure to city departments and careers in local government.
Mister Breen introduced the class and read the graduates’ names, thanking students who committed roughly 30 hours to the program over two weeks. A commencement speaker called the experience “eye opening,” saying the program taught students about water treatment, fire and police services, parks and recreation, library programs and other municipal operations.
Student participant Eshan Sazibuni said the program “showed me the ins and outs of who and what makes the city run so smoothly,” and singled out the police department as a favorite. City leaders congratulated the students: Mayor Pro Tem Stevens, Council member Lee and Council member Flores encouraged graduates to stay engaged with local government and consider returning to Round Rock after college.
Council members noted the program’s role in community outreach and workforce development and thanked staff who organized the event. The recognition was brief and ceremonial; no council action was required.
