Meade County Fiscal Court approves procurement code, equipment auctions and multiple road and bridge agreements

To tighten purchasing controls after past audits, the fiscal court authorized issuing WEX fuel cards to specified departments with spare cards held in the judge’s office. The court also approved putting county bulk-delivered fuel out to competitive bid for a one-year contract that will include contract language and price-variance provisions to account for fuel price fluctuations.
On transportation matters, the court approved two agreements with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Resolution 2025.07.0.01 authorizes a memorandum of agreement for work at Long Branch (materials provided by the cabinet; county labor anticipated), and members also approved Resolution 2025.07.0.02 to use the KYTC flex fund for a package of rubber-modified asphalt projects on several county roads amounting to roughly $302,000. Contractors have been contacted and work is awaiting the state’s final processing.
