The court also approved solid‑waste requests to send three roll‑off trucks to the JM Woods auction in Montgomery, Ala., this September. Jacob, speaking for Solid Waste, said the county will offer two 2024 Volvos and one 2023 Mack. Following the auction‑authorization vote, the court approved soliciting bids to finance replacement equipment.
On fuel procurement, the court voted to solicit competitive bids for delivered bulk fuel for fiscal year 2025 and to award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder. Officials said contract language will need provisions for price variance and that legal review will craft terms to address fuel price fluctuations.
The court approved two memoranda of agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. One resolution commits $35,000 from state emergency funds for work on the Long Branch bridge/road stabilization; county labor will supply the remainder. The court also authorized an annual KYTC flex‑fund package for rubber‑modified asphalt projects on several county roads with a combined project total discussed as about $302,000.
