The Louisville Metro Code Enforcement Board on June 13 moved many docketed matters to later hearings and upheld a $300 fine against a party who did not appear.
After reading a long list of preconference dockets, hearing officer Chris Wonteland called individual matters. Several property owners and their counsel requested continuances or status dates; the board granted many of those requests and scheduled multiple items for July 25 and several Erie/Area Court properties for June 27. Staff confirmed mailing on several notices and offered to provide paperwork showing which citations were conditionally discharged.
One no‑show was called for 9100 Dixie Highway; staff said notice had been sent, and the hearing officer upheld the $300 citation for nonappearance. Other individual cases — including ENF-PMNT-25-003540 (1923 Quarry Street) presented by Charice Williams and ENF-PMNT-24-015889-4 (1027 Lambton Alley) presented by Connor Grossman — were continued to July 25 for status updates.
Wonteland repeatedly stressed the board’s preference to secure compliance rather than impose fines where property owners actively work with staff. He told one appellant, “I’m not here to take your money. I’m here for your compliance. If I can’t get your compliance, I’ll take your money.” The board repeatedly instructed owners to show progress between now and the scheduled status dates.
