Fair board reports strong turnout, plans two‑day gospel/bluegrass festival and facility upgrades

The speaker listed a series of dates: professional barrel racing in the new horse arena; a large yard sale in August; professional barrel and pole events on August 1 and August 23; Mark Olsen’s car show on Sept. 6; an FFA fall festival tentatively set for Sept. 27; KITPA and a tractor pull on Oct. 4; professional bull riding on Oct. 11; and a Halloween demolition derby on Oct. 25. The speaker said breakfast with Santa is scheduled for Dec. 6.
The representative said the fair board is discussing a two‑day gospel and bluegrass music festival at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds featuring regional and local acts only, and that no national acts are planned this year. The fair board speaker also said lights for the horse arena are expected to be installed soon and that ADA‑compliant bleachers are on order. A grant has purchased two more grandstands and a private company is in talks to build party decks. The speaker estimated recent facility improvements amount to roughly a $250,000 facility investment.
The fair board representative said their term is ending and they will not seek reelection, and asked the court whether it wants to appoint a replacement or allow the fair board to nominate a president at its next meeting.
