County awarded $29,000 911 mapping grant; officials say proposed T-Mobile equipment will come back with negotiated terms

An emergency-management staff member explained the project will let the county update addresses, road data and other elements used by emergency dispatch. "The amount on that is 29,000. We do not have a match. It's a 100% grant," the staffer said. Staff said they hoped to complete the mapping within a year but cautioned timelines could be longer depending on vendor schedules and review needs.
Staff also summarized prior work with Woodgrass Center Development on mapping and said the county identified recurring data issues requiring a more thorough mapping update. The grant would fund a standalone mapping project to bring records up to date.
Separately, staff discussed ongoing talks with T-Mobile about installing cellular equipment on county sites. They said engineering reviews have been completed, placement and pad location were negotiated, and the county would likely see revenue from colocations but would not bear installation costs. Staff said initial approval would be followed by further negotiation and a subsequent return to the court with finalized terms before any installations move forward.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the mapping contract and return to the court with final T-Mobile terms after negotiations.
