Magoffin County approves $124,000 in interfund transfers and receives routine financial reports

Unidentified Speaker 4, who presented the transfer request, outlined four transfers from the general fund: $30,000 to the 501 fund, $45,000 to the jail fund, $43,000 to the LGDA fund and $6,000 to the Santa Nation fund, for a combined total of $124,000. The court moved, seconded and voted to approve the transfers.
The court also voted to receive the Rockland Water District financial report for the period 07/01/2025 through 06/30/2026 and the Gulf County Sheriff’s second-quarter financial report for 2025; presenters described both as routine with no significant issues. For solid-waste operations the court approved two county free-dump days — Oct. 4 and Oct. 18 — a change preserved under the county’s contract with Rumpke and chosen to align with typical October weather and spring/fall cleanup practices.
Presiding official (Unidentified Speaker 1) said the county’s share and contract terms require some local contribution for projects when state allocations are divided; the court recorded motions, seconds and vocal 'aye' votes for each of the formal actions. The meeting included no other binding budgetary decisions beyond the transfers and receipt of the routine reports.
The fiscal court’s next steps include advertising the free-dump dates and completing administrative steps to effect the interfund transfers.
