Tunica County supervisors approve routine salaries, summer-camp transportation and financial reports
Summary
At a regularly scheduled meeting, the Tunica County Board of Supervisors approved a small software/support agreement, two court-staff salary actions with county cost-sharing, use of school buses for Parks & Recreation summer trips, authorization of manual checks for camp vendors, routine financial reports, payroll and claims, and set the next meeting for July 7.
The Tunica County Board of Supervisors on a voice vote approved a series of routine agenda items, including court-staff pay adjustments, authorization to use school buses for summer camp trips and approval of regular financial reports and claims.
The board approved an agreement listed on the agenda for circuit-court election-system software/support for 2025 with a listed cost of $785. The item was moved by Miss Williams, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
The board also approved an order read into the record from Circuit Court Judge Hunter Niles setting the salary for law clerk Landon Phillip at $60,000 a year plus benefits effective July 1; the agenda noted Tunica County will contribute 29.6% of that salary. Separately, an order from Judge W.M. Sanders to increase salaries by $5,000 each for Amanda Hargrove and a deputy court administrator (transcript: 'my Donnelley') was read; the county was listed as contributing 8% of those increases. Both personnel items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
On Parks and Recreation matters the board approved a request to use Tunica County school buses for summer day-camp trips and authorized issuance of manual checks for specific camp destinations, which the agenda listed as Skate Odyssey; Tupelo Buffalo Parks; Memphis Children’s Museum; Memphis Rocks; Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery; and Toby Cinema. Miss Williams moved the transportation item; the motions were seconded and approved.
The board accepted the county credit card report, approved payroll, and approved the claims docket following separate motions and voice votes. There was no executive session requested and no travel items recorded for the Office of the Sheriff.
With no further business, the board voted to adjourn and scheduled its next meeting for Monday, July 7 at 4:00 p.m.
