Select Board approves most liquor license renewals; Friendly Toast did not return paperwork

The Select Board on Dec. 2 approved renewal of the town’s liquor licenses as presented by the town clerk, with two exceptions: one license was previously surrendered by the operator of the Hard Cover restaurant and Friendly Toast did not return required renewal paperwork by the November deadline and therefore will not have a liquor license after Jan. 1, 2026 unless it reapplies.
The clerk said transfers for two locations remain in process with the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) and that paperwork for most town licenses was in order. The board voted to approve the renewals presented at the meeting; members noted the town provides due process and that restaurants with unresolved issues can be asked to appear before the board if necessary.
Board members and the clerk encouraged establishments to follow ABCC deadlines and to contact the clerk’s office if they intend to seek a new or transferred license.
