BOCC approves vouchers, a Vionette fire‑panel contract and appoints tourism board members to economic development advisory committee

At the July 1 meeting the Grand County Board of County Commissioners handled several routine administrative matters.

Curtis Lang of accounting reported this week’s vouchers total just over $239,000 and noted monthly costs of about $67,000. The board moved to approve vouchers and wire payments for Grand County Department of Human Services and the Grand County Housing Authority.

Sheena Durnley, director of the Grand County Housing Authority, presented a service contract with Vionette Operating Group Inc. to replace a failing fire‑alarm panel at Grand Living Senior Homes. The contract was described as a not‑to‑exceed $8,095 replacement for an original 1980s system that has been generating false alarms. Commissioners moved to approve the contract and allow the chair to sign associated documents.

Diane Butler, Grand County Economic Development director, asked the board to appoint members of the tourism board to a Grand County Economic Development Advisory Committee so that bylaws can be amended and an older advisory board dissolved. Commissioners moved to appoint the tourism board members to the advisory committee and directed staff to begin the bylaw amendment process.

Other board business included approving a resolution to correct a clerical surcharge item related to waived death‑certificate fees, authorizing the BOCC to sit as the Board of Equalization for property valuation appeals, and authorizing execution of two MOUs with the Headwaters Trails Alliance with adjusted insurance terms.
