Yellowstone commissioners appoint Nara Hastings as House District 50 representative

Commissioners considered three candidates: Anthony Nicostro (transcribed elsewhere in the meeting as Anthony Nicastro), Dennis Pittman and Nara Hastings. After competing motions and discussion, the board voted to appoint Hastings. "I will discharge the duties of my office," Hastings repeated during the oath administered by the judge before signing the paperwork.
The board’s discussion included acknowledgment of substantial support for multiple candidates. Commissioner Morris’s vote was recorded by proxy during the discussion. The judge administered the oath of office immediately after the vote and attendees took photographs and completed the required paperwork.
No legislative action beyond the local appointment took place at the meeting; the newly appointed representative was sworn in and will assume duties according to state procedures.
