Katrina Peterson, chief administrative officer for Federal West Metro, gave a committee-term update and talked about an open vacancy and an appointment to the Metro committee.
Peterson said Judy’s term — currently set to expire March 14 — would be moved to June to align with the June 30 board cycle. Peterson also said the committee was accepting applications for a current vacancy through July 23. She announced that Vincent Paul had been appointed as a Pueblo West Metro appointee with a term through 2028.
During public comment, residents raised safety concerns about trees with low-hanging limbs that block sight lines and increase the chance drivers will swerve to avoid branches. One resident said the tree in question was directly across from Murray and that deer hide in the understory, creating a hazard for motorists. Staff said they would inspect the site and pursue tree service if the issue is within the right-of-way.
The meeting closed with thanks to staff and volunteers who prepared the annual 2022 report; staff said the report would be available through county channels and on the transparency page once posted.
