Pueblo West board approves Pixie Park playground contract with Star Playgrounds

Cosby explained the project design — swings, slides, climbers, engineered wood fiber surfacing and an accessible sidewalk from the parking lot — and said the district applied for up to $90,000 in county Conservation Trust Funds (CTF) that will reimburse the district after the project is allocated in the county budget. During discussion board members asked about age ranges for the equipment (standard playground design categories are 2–5 and 5–12) and voiced support for the replacement. A motion to authorize the contract and sign the resolution to secure pricing was made and the board approved the item.
Next steps: staff will sign the contract before the June 13 price lock and proceed with installation under the 2025 capital allocation; CTF reimbursement will be sought once county funds are allocated.
