Miss Hudson summarized the single proposal and said the group "have requested use of the old animal control building to establish the clinic," offered to make improvements to the facility, and asked that the county not charge rent while the county cover utilities (power and water). She noted the county can only enter into one-year contracts that follow the budget year but that renewal clauses can be included and considered annually.
Commissioners sought clarification about whether the arrangement would be indefinite and about cost-sharing; Miss Hudson said details of the contract would be negotiated and must be returned to the board for approval. One commissioner emphasized the value of providing low-cost spay and neuter services; another discussed typical per-animal pricing. After questions, a motion to accept the proposal was made, seconded and approved by the board.
Staff emphasized that contract terms, including renewal language and any county obligations for utilities, will be drafted and presented to the board for final approval.
