The Kennesaw Police Chief presented May 2025 crime statistics and the Mayor and Council voted to accept the report.
The chief said Group A offenses were 105 for May 2025 compared with 130 in the comparison period, representing a decline. He said the two largest areas of reduction were simple assaults (a reduction of 16) and drugs and narcotics offenses (a reduction of 9). Other figures presented: dispatch calls for service were 778; officers initiated 1,260 self-initiated calls; traffic citations totaled 568; warnings numbered 681; arrests were 82; auto accidents were 102 with seven accidents involving injuries; hit-and-run incidents were 15.
A motion to accept the crime statistics as presented was made and seconded, and the council approved the acceptance by unanimous vote.
